How to activate two-factor authentication for your Google account

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that is added to online accounts to ensure unauthorized access or logins. The 2 ‘factors’ involved here are your account’s password and the temporary code sent to the user in real time for authentication. The purpose is to authenticate a login or transaction with a piece of information that only the user will have access to (in all likelihood).
